Olivia Newton-John was working on a duets album before her untimely passing in August 2022. One of those duets was with Dolly Parton on his iconic song “Jolene.”

Newton-John’s YouTube channel released a video for the recording, which can be viewed below. The late singer’s website notes this was the last song and video she ever recorded.

Parton said in a statement, “My first memory of Olivia was when her song ‘Let Me Be There’ was a hit. I have loved her ever since. We had many occasions that we got to share together, either backstage or performing on the same shows, and I loved every moment that I ever got to spend with her. I’ve always been inspired by her grit, tenderness, willingness, and determination.”

She added, “My last memory of Olivia was when I sang with her on my song ‘Jolene’ which she recorded for an album not so very long ago. I cannot wait to hear that album and Olivia may you rest in peace. You left a spot that one else will ever fill.”

Newton-John’s album Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection comes out on May 5 and is available for pre-save here. In addition to Parton, also appearing on Newton-John’s album is Mariah Carey, Michael McDonald, John Travolta, Barry Gibb, Vanessa Amorossi, Jon Secada and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
