Canadian Police Looking For A 500-Pound Taxidermy Polar Bear Stolen From Resort

Look, some things are easier to steal than others. Candy bars can easily slide inside a pocket and go unnoticed. Of course, you shouldn't steal them. They're just easier to steal than other things might be. For example, a 500-pound taxidermy polar bear that was stolen from a Canadian resort.

Now, Canadian police are looking for this massive stolen animal. To add to the confusion, the polar bear was likely stolen on a day with frigid weather with temperatures below zero!

According to Business Insider, the Lily Lake Resort near Edmonton runs 24-hour security every day. However, patrols may have been canceled on that day due to the dangerously low temperatures. However, that provided these thieves with the perfect opportunity. I'm just sitting here wondering how you could steal something that big and have absolutely nobody notice? Again, it's not like you're stealing a candy bar!

Harry, the 500-pound stuffed bear, was taken from the Lionsheart Wellness Center at the Lily Lake Resort in January. The bear stands at an impressive 10-12 feet tall. According to Business Insider, the bear is typically positioned on the second floor of the resort. That is, of course, until staff noticed it was missing.

Now, they're thinking this is not a random act of thievery. According to Business Insider, the executive director of the center, Wanda Rowe, said, "It had to be planned. It 100% had to be planned."

According to CBC News, parts of Alberta had dropped to roughly -49 degrees Fahrenheit in January. Unfortunately, crimes like this one are pretty common at the resort. Business Insider reports that a pair of stuffed raccoons were stolen from the resort in August. It is not known if the two thefts are related.

Now, law enforcement will be checking websites to see if the stolen stuffed polar bear pops up for sale anywhere. I feel like it's the type of thing someone might notice in your living room or your yard.

The Brown Recluse Spider has necrotic venom. Their bites will often require medical attention. It is one of three spiders in North America with dangerous venom along with the Black Widow and Chilean Recluse. They're mostly found in the Central United States. They are very dangerous and harmful to the older community and younger individuals. They're typically between 6 and 20 millimeters.
