Why Are Florida Spring Breakers Paying To Get Slapped In The Face?
Why are Florida Spring Breakers paying to get slapped in the face? When I went on Spring Break, we paid for shots–not slaps. Now, Spring Breakers in South Florida are literally lining up to get slapped in the face by a bartender whose Hurricane shots come with an extra punch.
Most people are familiar with chasing their shots of liquor with juice, soda, or some other type of beverage. Now, Spring Breakers are chasing their shots with a chaser of slap to the face.
Why Are Florida Spring Breakers Paying To Get Slapped In The Face?
According to Axios, the special Hurricane at Backyard Fort Lauderdale costs $30 and comes with her splashing your face with water and a slap across the face (maybe several times). Bartender Aiyanna Callas will introduce you to her alter ego “Hurricane Aiyanna” and it’s a fitting nickname. That slap will definitely help you forget about the awful tasting liquor you just consumed. It’s probably much more effective than chasing with some juice.
Business is booming! People are coming from all over for the one-of-a-kind shot. It helps that South Beach is breaking up with Spring Breakers and telling them they aren’t wanted. So, more people are going to Fort Lauderdale and other South Florida cities for their fun. It seems like they found it at Backyard.
Axios reports they’re selling roughly 150-200 Hurricane shots a night. That means they’re bringing in $6,000 every night on these shots alone! That’s crazy! It sounds much better than when Senor Frogs would give you the watered down shot and then tweak your nipples. That was odd. Did that happen to anyone else? Hoping that’s a normal thing to happen there.
Social media has helped the popularity of the drink. It quickly went viral online for how unique the beverage is. You truly can’t find this in any bar.
