An elephant attack turned fatal after a safari truck flipped over! The unfortunate incident left a 80-year-old woman dead.
This has to be in the back of your mind during a safari. There are wild animals all around you–and you’re in their territory. Here’s more on the Darksided story.
Elephant Attack Turns Fatal After Safari Truck Flips
It’s a risk you take when you go on a safari. You never know if an animal may act animalistic and protective over its space. Unfortunately, that’s what happened on this safari. In my head, I always picture a lion or an alpha predator being the one to attack the safari. However, that’s not always the case. In fact, it’s usually a different animal than a lion that will attack. People have been attacked by giraffes, hippos, and elephants while trying to enjoy a safari. They can all be territorial and that creates an issue for those trying to get a glimpse of African wildlife up close and personal.
According to TMZ, the incident happened in Zambia at the Kafue National Park. It was all captured on video and it’s incredibly frightening. You can see a bull elephant charge their truck running into hit head-on.
One woman was killed in the incident and another was seriously injured, according to TMZ. TMZ says the truck got caught in vegetation and the road was blocked and they were unable to move when the elephant started charging.
Recently, my parents went on a Safari in South Africa. They said it was beautiful, but it can be scary. They had their truck get chased by some giraffes who were protective over their land and kin. You never know! It’s not always a Lion or Tiger that will attack. It can be any animal out there, so it’s important that you’re always alert and aware of your surroundings.
