A Chipotle employee in Michigan was shot in the leg by a customer after a dispute over Guacamole. Sure, we know it costs extra. However, this seems to be taking it to the next level.
How did all of this happen? Let’s dive in to the trending story.
Chipotle Customer Shoots Worker Over Guacamole Dispute
According to FOX 2 Detroit, the Chipotle employee in Southfield, Michigan was shot in the leg by a customer after an argument over guacamole. Michael Beals was another customer who witnessed the incident and captured it on camera. Per FOX 2 Detroit, Beals said, “It was loud, and then we all just ran out. I wasn’t really thinking…there was going to be a shot, but there was.”
Another witness, Thomas Huber, tells FOX 2 Detroit, “I was just eating a bowl and I heard shouting. And then I looked over, they’re arguing. One of the workers went to the back, I don’t know why, and then when he was in the back, the customer walked around the counter, tried to grab his food and put it in a bag. Then the employee came back, and they started fighting, and then we heard a gunshot and just ran out as quick as we could.”
This all happened at a Chipotle–not a Waffle House, despite how it might sound. We’re more familiar with hearing stories like this from Waffle House–not Chipotle. The suspect was later found and taken into custody shortly after fleeing the scene. FOX 2 Detroit reports the victim is in stable condition and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Check out the video taken from the scene below! I can’t imagine witnessing that happen. Of course, someone was there with their phone. They always are. This really does look like a scene out of a Waffle House. He made it behind the counter!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
