What Penis Problem Did A Man Have For 17 Years Before Seeking Help?

A man dealt with a penis problem for 17 years before finally seeking help. It’s a good thing he finally made that decision to get it looked into because what the problem turned out to be is nothing short of shocking.

They say men are famously scared of going to the doctor. Well, this guy proves that to be true. However, there’s clearly a reason to be scared! Check out what penis problem he was dealing with for nearly two decades below!

Man Finally Seeks Help For Penis Problem After 17 Years

According to Daily Mail, the 72-year-old man lived for 17 years with a severely swollen penis causing the organ to appear to be partially erect at all times, in addition to a swollen scrotum and left leg. That is not an issue you want to walk around with all the time and be seen with in public.

After finally getting it looked into he was shocked at what they found. Daily Mail reports the unnamed patient was found to be infected with hordes of live microscopic worms that were causing the massive inflammation around his groin-area.

The man who was living in Switzerland at the time, had moved from Zimbabwe 20 years earlier–a place where this type of infection is more common. Daily Mail reports that he was given anti-parasitic medication and within 2 months of finishing the drugs his symptoms were completely resolved. He dealt with it for 17 years and it could have been gone in a couple of months if he had acted! Fellas, if you think something is wrong in or on your body–please go get it checked out! Do not wait 17 years to get it looked into! Often, that can only cause more problems for you!

What he had is known as “Wuchereria bancrofti” which are the microscopic, thread-like worms. According to Daily Mail, they can be caused by mosquito bites which transfers larvae into the bloodstream. Feeling scared? These worms are not present in the United States or United Kingdom, so as long as you’re staying here you should be okay! If you’re having a penis problem, go and get it checked!
