Why Should You Be Worried If You Spot A Penis Freckle?
According to Daily Mail, around 700 men each year in the United Kingdom are diagnosed with penile cancer and undergo a partial or total penectomy where the penis is removed. Yes, a penectomy is a real thing and it really happens to people.
Craig Mycock is one of those people. Hold on…is that a fake name? There’s no way the guy who got his penis amputated has the last name of Mycock. Well, according to Daily Mail it’s true! Daily Mail reports Mycock was having trouble emptying his bladder and went to the hospital. There, a nurse noticed a pea-sized penis freckle. It was on the head of his penis and had been there for about 6 months and wasn’t painful or creating any issues for him. She recommended the doctor look at it and the doctor urged further investigation.
That’s when he discovered that he had penile cancer. They had to inject an anesthetic into his penis and take a small sample of tissue for analysis. Weeks later, Daily Mail reports that he learned it was an aggressive, fast-growing cancer and they needed to remove part of his penis. However, the cancer continued to grow and spread and they learned they would have to remove the entire penis.
Now, he’s making the most of it. His partner, Colette, still loves him and stuck by his side. He now uses a flexible tube inserted into the area where his penis had been. Remember: give yourself little checks. If you notice something strange that wasn’t there before get it looked at! Don’t be scared to go to the doctor or get it investigated, it can save your life or maybe your penis!
