Be careful because it's the most active time of the year for lightning strikes! Here's what you need to know!

It's important to know your facts and how to protect yourself from lightning! You can protect yourself and possibly save your own life or the life of a loved one by know what to do and more importantly what not to do when lightning is possible.

It's The Most Active Time Of Year For Lightning Strikes

According to Click Orlando, The National Lightning Safety Council says 3 people have died this year from lightning strikes. One happened in the state of Florida, one in Colorado, and another in New Jersey. These deaths are now being used as a reminder that lightning can be incredibly dangerous and unpredictable.

Click Orlando reports that these numbers are lower than the average number of lightning deaths per year by this time. When it comes to death caused by lightning, Click Orlando says Florida leads the nation with 89 recorded cases since 2006. National Lightning Safety Awareness Week ends on June 29th so it's the perfect time to raise awareness.

So, how do you keep yourself safe if there's a potential for lightning. Weather.gov says no place outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area. If you hear thunder, it means lightning is close enough to strike you meaning you should move inside to safe shelter. You should then stay inside for at least 30 minutes after you hear the last sound of thunder.

How To Stay Safe During Lightning Strikes

However, just getting indoors doesn't guarantee your safety. Weather.gov still recommends you stay off corded phones and electrical equipment. You should also avoid plumbing, sinks, baths, and faucets. Not the best time to shower.

It's also recommended you avoid elevated areas and stay away from objects that conduct electricity, per Weather.gov. See more on a video report from Click Orlando on YouTube below!

Dave's Other Job Offer

Can you imagine Dave in any other job? It would definitely be interesting! Well, it could soon become a reality. Dave received an offer from an erotic novelist to record the audio versions of her books and although he considered it, he doesn't think his wife or the company would approve of him taking it as a side gig. I would buy that audio book!

Dave's Got Drugs In His Pockets

Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a guy who claimed the drugs in his pockets weren't his and neither were the pants he was wearing. Dave then plays the song, 'Drugs in my Pockets' by The Monks but no one on the show has ever heard that song before. Turns out, the song isn't bad! Well, at least as bad as Dave's version of it. Check out BOTH versions above!

Dave's Plane Ass Incident

Somehow, Dave always ends up in the most awkward situations. There's one common denominator: himself. Dave was involved in an uncomfortable situation on an airplane over the weekend. He accidentally squirted hand sanitizer on a man's ass that was standing in front of him and wanted to know if he handled the situation correctly.

Dave's Patio Furniture Update

It's the update we've been waiting for! Last year, Dave made a delivery mistake and sent outdoor patio furniture to people in Florida after meeting them one time. He shares an update after finding out the people kept the furniture for themselves and never said anything. Would you have done what Dave did? What would you have done in this situation?

Who Won't Stop Texting Dave?

Technology has come a long way over the years. However, it still has a way to go. Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about an odd problem that Dave is experiencing involving his robot vacuum. It won't stop texting him saying that it's stuck, even when it's not plugged in. Everyone says this is a problem only gadget man Dave would have to deal with.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
