Sometimes, an idea can sound like a good one at the time, only for you to realize you were just drunk. That would certainly explain the paint color choice of my bedroom. Likewise, calling the police for a ride home while you’re violating probation isn’t a good idea. Now, this guy is learning that the hard way.
Drunk Florida Man Violating Probation Reportedly Called 911 For A Ride Home
If you want a ride home at 1am in the morning, you should call an Uber or a ride share service of your choosing. A drunk Florida man violating probation reportedly called 911 for a ride home, but was given a ride to jail, instead. It all happened in Lake Wales, Florida. That’s about 60 miles east of Tampa.
Yes, it’s good that he didn’t make the decision to drink and drive, but if you’re not supposed to be driving or visiting bars then you might run into a problem after phoning the police requesting a drive home. The Miami Herald reports that this suspect was put on 5-years probation back in 2021 and some of his special conditions included restrictions against drinking, driving, and visiting bars.
When deputies found him, he wasn’t wearing a shirt, according to The Miami Herald. That would make him pretty easy to spot. He told law enforcement that he had been drinking and his wife dropped him off out there and he was stranded. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office tells The Miami Herald, “When asked where he was, it sounded like he said Altamonte Road. But there is no Altamonte Road in Polk County. Regardless, dispatchers were able to pinpoint the man’s location at the intersection of Alturas Babson Park Cutoff Road and Crews Road near Lake Wales.”
He was taken to jail. There’s your drunk Florida man story of the day on Dave & Chuck The Freak!
