How did an old payphone help save 2 lives? A pair of people are lucky to be alive after a car nearly rolled over onto them on the sidewalk!

The incident happened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Even though the old payphone was out-of-service it's being credited for potentially saving the lives of these 2 people! Talk about a...close call. *CSI: Miami theme song plays*

It's a good thing they didn't have a chance to remove the out-of-date technology yet. Following a pretty severe looking car crash, the old payphone was able to slow down the rolling vehicle enough to keep the people out of harm's way! If it wasn't there, this story would have been much more Darksided, I'm afraid.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the two-car crash happening and a dark SUV is seen turning into the path of a speeding white car. That's when the white car slides into 2 people walking on the sidewalk rolling right over them! It's remarkable how they weren't hit or injured and it appears that the old payphone is to thank!

Nobody was seriously injured in the accident and 4 people were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A witnessed who goes by Nery tells WEAU that he was at a kids' birthday party when they heard the noise telling a translator, "All of us were eating, and suddenly, I heard a sound like a break. Then, we heard a hit, and all of us left the party. We went to see, and there was the car."

There was a bit of the scare immediately after the crash where it appeared that people involved might have been injured. Witness Cha Song tells WEAU, "The guy was having a hard time beathing. The girl was crying. She said her shoulder got messed up. She had scratches on her. They were sitting on the ground, crying. I thought for sure they were killed. But I'm really happy that they're doing good, they're OK." Thankfully, nobody ended up being seriously injured as a result of the crash.

It sounds like crashes at that spot are pretty common and locals are asking for a stoplight to be placed at the intersection hoping to make it less dangerous. The driver was ticketed for reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and driving without insurance, per WEAU. They're running from the cops and are sure to already be in a lot of trouble, they don't care about damaging your car during the incident at all.

Sometimes, the videos are captured by news crews in cars, other times the video is captured on camera by a helicopter, and sometimes it's captured by a civilian on the scene. Thanks to social media, everyone is a journalist these days. Hopefully, you can hear the sarcasm in my voice when I write that. Pros and cons to that.

The country watched as Simpson and a friend led police on a chase that lasted roughly 2-hours as they went from Orange County to Brentwood, per the Los Angeles Times. Commenters on the video point out that at least he used his turn signals during the chase. Most don't choose to do that. I'm sure it was appreciated by all parties involved.

He hits several other vehicles on the road during the chase. I certainly would not want to share the road with this person. It's dangerous out there.

During O.J. Simpson's famous car chase, they weren't going at ridiculous speeds. This case is a bit different. This high-speed chase through Los Angeles ended when the vehicle slammed into a power pole and flipped over! This is definitely a must-see car chase. Check it out above!
