Oregon Woman Arrested For Arson After Siphoning Gas While Smoking
Siphoning gas while smoking is a terrible idea. It can blow up and kill you or leave you severely injured. Also, it can get you arrested.
Not smoking at a gas station is common sense. I feel like everybody knows that from a very young age. Unfortunately, I was wrong. An Oregon woman is now learning the important lesson the hard way.
Oregon Woman Arrested For Arson After Siphoning Gas While Smoking
This is one of those stories that just makes you want to give yourself a face palm. What else can you do? People are the absolute worst and just when you think we couldn’t be any dumber, we go out and do something like this. Don’t smoke at the gas station. You can get your fix soon enough. Otherwise, you might be facing a list of charges like this woman!
According to KEZI, a woman in a bakery van allegedly lit a cigarette while siphoning gas with a hose out of a U-Haul vehicle in Roseburg, Oregon. Now, she’s being charged with second-degree arson after one and possibly two U-Haul vehicles were destroyed in the fire that was started. That woman has since been identified as 47-year-old Jennifer Denise Holmes who drives the bakery van with “Nana’s Sweet Treats” written on the side, per KEZI.
By the time that emergency crews were able to get the scene, the U-Haul was reportedly fully engulfed in flames and was spreading to a second van. Law enforcement were able to look at security footage which showed Holmes’ van in the area just before the fire started. She admitted to siphoning gas from the U-Haul while lighting a cigarette which was responsible for starting the fire, per KEZI. She’s now also being charged with first-degree criminal mischief and reckless burning.
This isn’t the first time someone was caught-on-camera siphoning gas from a U-Haul in Oregon. It happened a couple of years ago and the guy caught on fire! Remember: this is why you don’t light fires around gas! Don’t smoke at the gas station, especially while you’re siphoning gas. You can check out that video from a few years ago below.
That’s wild! It’s important to remember common sense. It can be easy to forget but always keep it with you. Also good to remember that there are security cameras everywhere these days and if you think you’re going to get away with something like this you are most likely incorrect.
