8-Year-Old Girl In Minnesota Helps Fight Off Armed Robber With A Bat

An 8-year-old girl in Minnesota helped fight off an armed robber with a bat! Now, she's our Badass Of The Day on Dave & Chuck The Freak!

When put in a stressful situation, you have to choose between Fight or Flight. This 8-year-old girl chose to fight. She helped beat back an armed robber with a bat during a burglary attempt. Would you have made the same choice? Or would you have picked Flight?

This young girl deserves a medal or the keys to the city, or something! She's so brave in the face of danger! I know for a fact I would not have been as brave if I found myself in that situation. She's a much stronger person than I am and she's only 8-years-old! The incident happened in Maplewood, Minnesota.

According to CBS News, an armed robber, identified as Conchobhar Morrell, was beaten back by an 8-year-old girl and her baseball bat. Now, Morrell has been charged with 1st-degree attempted aggravated robbery. It sounds like this isn't his first run-in with the law. CBS News reports that he was also convicted for 1st-degree aggravated robbery back in 2004. It's been 20 years and clearly he still hasn't learned his lesson. Hopefully, this little girl with a baseball bat helped get the message across.

Surveillance video from the scene shows Morrell wearing an Amazon uniform and reaching in his pocket and setting a realistic looking BB Gun on the counter. It wasn't just an outfit, Morrell is a delivery associate for a third-party delivery service delivering packages for Amazon, per CBS News. However, he won't be delivering packages for them any more as he was reportedly immediately offboarded following the incident.

According to CBS News, store manager Leo says, "He (Morrell) put the gun on the table, he asked me to give him all the money and everything in the register I told him yes--I'll give you everything." Morrell is then seen on video walking behind the counter and receiving a punch from Leo who wrestles him to the floor. Then, the brave 8-year-old comes out with a bat in hand ready to fight. She even struck him a few times before running away. CBS News reports that Leo was unaware that his daughter was even involved until he watched the surveillance video.

She's now being hailed as a hero for her brave actions. As for Morrell, he remains in custody. See the video from WTHR on YouTube below.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.

Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.

While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces. That's why I've gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best.
