A live shrimp attacked a woman eating at a restaurant in China. They say don't play with your food, but it's better than when your food plays with you!

You never expect to get attacked by your meal when you go out to eat. However, that's what happened to this lady. This shrimp was not ready to be made into a meal and it seemingly did all it could to save its own life. Now, the video is going viral worldwide.

Live Shrimp Attacks Woman Eating At Restaurant

Talk about a food fight! This unique meal ended in tears after the live shrimp turned the table on the woman attempting to eat it. The video is making the rounds on the internet and now has roughly 5 million views and climbing.

The video was taken at an undisclosed restaurant in China. In the video, the woman can be seen trying to dunk the live shrimp in a pot with other seafood--but it was not having it. The shrimp surprises the woman by hopping out of her hand and attacking her instead. You can't blame it! It might have known its fate that was merely seconds away. According to The New York Post it was a mantis shrimp that has raptorial forearms which it uses to spear and smash prey. Basically, it's like a smaller Swiss Army Knife.

While the live shrimp was successful at avoiding the hot pot, it was unable to avoid her chopsticks which she used to pick it up and then it amped up its attack. That's when she starts crying pretty loudly and starts to shriek in agony. It looks like the shrimp latched onto her hand and she had to have an employee come help her out. It looks intense! She appears to be in a lot of pain. I'm not sure how much it hurts or if she was jus taken by surprise...but I'm going with it really hurts. She does not appear to be feeling good and looks like she's in serious pain as she finally turns the camera off.

Use this as a lesson to not play with your food! Having to cook it yourself might not be the best idea moving forward, I can't see her trying it again. You can watch the viral video for yourself below. The rest of the food actually looks pretty good! Hopefully she was able to stick around and enjoy it.

When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
