A man in the Bronx tried to steal a tow truck that was trying to tow his truck! The incident was captured on video and is now going viral.

“Tried to steal a tow truck towing his truck” sounds a lot like it could be the new “how much wood would a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood.” It’s a mouthful and incredibly alliterative. He didn’t make it very far.

There are many ways you can prevent your car from being towed. You can follow the law, obey signs, and pay your bills on time. Another thing you could do is steal the tow truck that’s currently trying to tow your car. However, that’s not advised and it didn’t go well for this guy.

According to News 12, multiple cars and a city bus were damaged during the attempted heist that happened in front of an industrial loading zone in Sunset Park in the Bronx. Reports say a fight broke out between the truck owner and the tow professional which led to the owner of the truck actually getting behind the wheel of the tow truck. He then tried his getaway and it did not go smoothly at all. He hit several cars trying to get out of there and it came to an end when he went head-first into a city bus, per News 12.

There’s still no word on the identity of the man but it all was caught on video. The owner of one of the cars that was damaged tells News 12, “I need to call insurance or police, I need this car I need it to take my driver to school.” That person points out they can’t afford the fixes to their vehicle on his own and hopes the suspect is caught and brought to justice. Thankfully, it sounds like nobody was seriously hurt during the ordeal. It’s a surprise because watching the video someone could have really been hurt! Especially if they were inside any of those vehicles or on that bus!

Pretty crazy! Not sure why you’d even try that, especially in New York City. You’re not going to get far with that big tow truck and you have plenty of eyeballs on you. You’re not getting away. Now, he’s going to be in much more trouble than he was originally. You can see another angle of the incident here. It sounds like it might have been getting repossessed as he was late on payments according to reports.
