Mom Learns She’s Dead After Finding Her Own Obituary Online

Can you imagine stumbling across your own obituary online? That would be a major surprise!

While it sounds almost too unbelievable to be true, it actually happened to a woman over in the United Kingdom! She received tons of phone calls from friends who also saw the obituary online despite the fact that she was still alive and well. How does this happen?

There would be no greater shock than reading an article online talking about your death. Certainly, you'd know it wasn't real but...would you? Would there be a second that you have to think, "am I actually dead?" It would be strange to read your own obituary and it's not just your name--it's all your info too!

According to Metro, Faye Finaro, from Nottingham, was given quite the surprise when she saw her own name and photograph appear in the obituary section of the Mansfield Chad, a local publication. It also included an option to send flowers to her grieving family! It sounds like the 39-year-old mom wasn't even aware of the post until a friend called to check in. Granted, not sure what calling your dead friend would do? Kind of an interesting choice to make there. However, she answered the phone because she was, in fact, not dead at all.

Naturally, she took to Facebook to reassure her friends and family that she was not dead and is currently alive and well. She even emailed the website to say that there had clearly been a mistake. How does she think it happened? She tells Metro, "I believe what's happened is there must have been some crossover with the celebrations page they were doing and all the photos and captions were left in the database before they were outsourced to Legacy." According to Metro, Finaro had recently won an award for her business and her friend searched her when she found the obituary.

A spokesperson for Legacy tells Metro, "We are indeed aware of the issue and we are in correspondence with Ms. Finaro about the matter." That would be a weird thing to come across! Hopefully if it ever happens to you it says nice things! I wonder if she received flowers or not. After having this happen and having some people believe there's a chance you might actually be dead it would be a bit of a bummer if no flowers ended up coming. I'm sure some are on their way, even if it's as a joke. That would be pretty funny.
