Did A Florida Man Lead Police On The Slowest Chase Ever?
Did a Florida man lead police on the slowest chase ever? That’s what it sounds like and it would be hard to go any slower.
We’ve talked about many police chases on Dave & Chuck The Freak. Usually, they involve high rates of speed and cause a lot of damage during the pursuit. However, this time around is a bit different. At some points he was going as slow as 2 or 3 miles per hour! It’s not your typical police chase.
Florida Man Leads Police On The Slowest Chase Ever
The incident happened in Bunnell, Florida which is in Flagler County. Now, people are debating if it’s actually the slowest chase ever because it’s far from your average chase. It reportedly all started with a hit-and-run.
According to First Coast News, 33-year-old Kyle McNary has been accused of kicking the passenger out of a black Kia Sorento that he was driving near the intersection of East Woodland Street and State Road 100. The victim claims that McNary wouldn’t drive faster than 15 to 20 miles per hour and they stopped to switch places so the victim could drive instead. However, before that could happen McNary reportedly kicked the victim out and drove off, per First Coast News. It sounds like at one point he was going as slow as 2-3 miles per hour during the chase! That’s so slow! It’s like barely in idle!
After that, he was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in which he came to a sudden stop in front of another vehicle without giving them time to stop. Eventually, he was stopped using stop sticks but he did ignore several commands via the public address system, per First Coast News. It sounds like he even made several U-Turns during the drive and eventually landed in a ditch. He was finally detained after that.
McNary is now being charged with simple battery, failing to stop/remain at a crash involving serious bodily injury, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, obstruction without violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting a law enforcement officer with violence–aggravated assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, and threat with death or serious bodily harm, per First Coast News. That’s a lot of charges! You can see his mugshot below provided by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
