The incident happened in St. Tammany, Louisiana. This wasn't just a personal stash that was left in the car or something like that if that's what you're currently picturing. No, think larger. Pounds of drugs!
Was A Couple's Drug Dealing Inventory Discovered During A Repo?
You'd imagine if your car was getting repossessed and you knew you had a lot of drugs in there you'd try pretty hard to get inside that car one last time. You either want those drugs back or you want the money you can get from selling those drugs. There's a lot of money left sitting in that car as far as street value goes it sounds like.
According to WDSU, officers with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a storage yard of a repossession company in Slidell after a gun and drugs were found in the vehicle. After executing a search warrant, 9 pounds of marijuana and 18 grams of psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms) were found in the vehicle, per WDSU. Also found in the vehicle were packaging materials for street-level drug distribution and a semi-automatic handgun, WDSU reports.
It sounds like a warrant was issued for 32-year-old Rashad Davalie after he made numerous attempts to retrieve his personal belongings from the car. Like we said earlier, if you know what's in that car you're going to want to get back inside of it again. Looks like that's what happened here. Eventually, Davalie and his partner Charesnisha Johnson showed up to retrieve their belongings from the car and they were both placed into custody.
