This is certainly a unique story. It all started with a stripper gram audition and ended with a warrant for their arrest. Thankfully, the warrant has been dismissed but now it's been reported that a count of gross injury and outraging public decency is now on her public record! Now, 60-year-old Jean Sipes is saying the warrants for her and her husband's arrests should have never been issued at all.
Why Was An Arrest Warrant Made For A Stripper Gram Mix-Up?
According to KTUL, Jean Sipes and her husband were supporting a friend when they attended a Stripper Gram Audition in downtown McAlester, Oklahoma. Sipes tells KTUL, "It was through a friend of mine. He's always had this dream, I guess you would call it, of starting like a stripper gram kind of business. And he wanted to have people audition." That's an odd dream, but hey it's good to have goals and aspirations no matter how strange they might be.
That friend who organized the event was Jimmy Plummer who at the time was running for mayor but didn't end up winning the election. Thankfully, becoming mayor wasn't his lifetime goal, it was creating a stripper gram business. So, it's not much of a heartbreak and don't pity him for losing. The problem was the city and former Mayor John Browne both didn't approve of the event. Sipes tells KTUL that among the group of spectators, only one person ended up showing up to the audition. She says the event didn't get out of hand, but police were on site just in case, and she was surprised when a few weeks later she learned of an arrest warrant for both her and her husband.
They were both accused of acts resulting in Gross Injury and Outraging Public Decency and it's unclear why it was issued in the first place. It sounds like they thought she was the female dancer and they got the wrong person. Now, they'll have to hire a lawyer to expunge the warrant. Sipes tells KTUL, "The DA investigator, when I mentioned that this is going to be on our record, he said, 'Well, no, it's OK. We're going to make it like it never happened.' Well, it's still on there." I guess you have to be careful what events you go to as a spectator because it might come back to burn you!
5 of the Craziest Cringeworthy Crimes Ever Committed
While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.
Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America's Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I'm not sure if those shows are around...and I'm certain Spike TV isn't around anymore. That's a story for another time.
Craziest Crimes
Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.
While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces. That's why I've gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best. Let's be honest...what's better than reading a story about one of the craziest crimes ever committed? Or, watching Dave and Chuck the Freak talk about some of the dumbest crimes ever committed? Personally, I'm going with the funny storytellers.
They add their own two cents and perspectives on these stories that nobody else could provide. Not even those talking heads on the dumbest criminal shows. Am I the only one who remembers those? I feel like they were a staple on TruTV or VH1, but now all I can find on TruTV is Impractical Jokers, which is awesome but...you get it. Let's not delay! Here's the list!
