Do you love Squid Game on Netflix? Then here are 5 other shows like it that you should definitely check out.

Once again, Squid Game is the talk of the world. Season 2 of Squid Game came out on December 26th and quickly became the most popular show not only in the United States or South Korea but the entire world. If your country has Netflix, it's the biggest show streaming right now. I'm certainly not going to spoil anything for you, but Season 2 was definitely worth the wait and ended on a cliffhanger that has everyone itching for the 3rd season to come. Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait a bit. However, there are other shows just like it that you can check out to pass some time while we wait.

If You Like 'Squid Game' Then Check Out These 5 Other Shows

It's the worst feeling in the world when your show ends on Netflix. Whether it's a finale or the end of the season you're always left wanting more and feel like you're missing something. Especially when the show ends with a cliffhanger and leaves you on the edge of your seat. Nobody likes waiting, even if good things do come to those who wait. Allegedly. Thankfully, if you're a fan of Squid Game then there are other shows available to stream right now as well that are similar and might be able to scratch that itch until Season 3 comes out.

First, there's Alice In Borderland. I highly recommend that show on Netflix. There have been 2 amazing seasons and a 3rd one is reportedly on the way. I can't wait for it. Like Squid Game, the show features games where competitors either win or die. A major difference is Alice In Borderland integrates playing cards and in order to advance you must collect all the cards in a deck. It also is made in Japan and takes place there instead of South Korea like Squid Game. It's one of the best shows I've watched in recent years and sometimes I think it might even be better than Squid Game. This is also on Netflix.

Additionally, there's Hellbound. This is another intense and thrilling show made in South Korea that will have you on the edge of your seat. It's frightening but is an excellent watch. In that show an entity appears for some people and tells them when they're going to die and huge scary demons come and beat you up and send you to hell. Intense. There's lots of drama and action but it can be quite violent. However, if you like Squid Game then you're no stranger to that. Like the other 2 before, this is on Netflix.

Three other shows to check out would be Panic, Sweet Home, and Parasyte: The Grey. All of these are incredibly thrilling and I think will help pass the time until the 3rd season of Squid Game comes out.

Now that Christmas has past, you might be at a loss of things to do or things to look forward to. Maybe you've already played with your new gifts to a point that it's gotten old already and you need something to entertain you. It happens. You might even be off work and in desperate need of something to do or something to watch. The good news is there are plenty of streaming options available across all of the platforms. Looking for some recommendations on shows to stream? Look no further!

5 Shows To Stream This Winter

Whether you live somewhere cold where you'll be bundling up and not going outside for the next couple months, or even if you live somewhere with nice weather you might need something to do to help you pass time. Many people take the week of Christmas and the week of New Years Eve off of work for the holidays. Even if you don't take the weeks off, it's a slow week and it can be mentally draining. So, that means it's a good time to find a show to stream!

It's the perfect time of the year for some serious binging. However, with so many streaming platforms and shows to choose from it can be challenging finding something to pick out and watch. We've all been there. You're ready to start a new show and you sit down with the remote and go show by show reading descriptions but can't seem to find the one that's calling your name. Then, you switch streaming platforms and go from Hulu to Netflix to see what's available there. You do the same thing before checking Max and before you know it a full hour has gone by and you're ready for bed. You never ended up picking a show to watch and tomorrow you'll go through the motions again. You don't want that to happen!

So, I've come up with a list of 5 shows that I'm streaming or have recently streamed that I would recommend. Are these shows for everyone? No. That would be impossible. I'm not a professional critic by any means but I feel like I watch a lot of shows and would be willing to pass along what I've enjoyed so you don't waste your time watching something that's going to end up being a dud. We've been gifted lots of good new shows to stream in 2024 and there are plenty of old shows you might have missed as well. Which shows would I recommend you watch this winter? Check out the list below!

Squid Game

Season 2 of Squid Game just hit Netflix! It's been highly anticipated and Season 1 was one of the most popular shows in the world. It even inspired a spin-off game show on Netflix that was also very entertaining. If you haven't seen Squid Game or haven't started the second season, get to it! It will definitely be a topic of discussion when you return to work and you don't want to miss out! Check it out on Netflix.

The Office Superfan Episodes

Whenever I can't find a show to watch I always seem to go back to The Office. It's one of the best comedies ever and it never gets old. Well, I guess it can after so many watches. However, not with the Superfan edition on Peacock. These episodes have extra content added that you've never seen before. Sometimes it's like 20 minutes of extra content per episode! That makes it feel like a totally new episode that you've never seen before, and some of the deleted scenes that didn't make the final cut are actually really hilarious! They add so much and if you're a fan of The Office you're missing out if you haven't seen the Superfan Episodes. Check it out on Peacock!

The Penguin

The Penguin was fantastic! It was enjoyed by we the people and critics alike. The final episode was even rated one of the best TV episodes of all-time. That's really saying something! The acting is top notch and the story is great. It's like a mafia show and you didn't really have to see The Batman in order to follow along and understand it. It was a great look into the Penguin and I expect it to win several awards come award season. Bravo, Colin Farrell. Now streaming on Max.

Aaron Rodgers: Enigma

Regardless of how you feel about Aaron Rodgers, you'll like Aaron Rodgers: Enigma. There are 3 episodes of the show that follows the quarterback as he attempts to recover from an Achilles injury to get back onto the field. However, it goes deeper into his full career from high school, to college, time with the Green Bay Packers, to today. It also spends a lot of time focusing on his personal life which has been in the spotlight the past few years and has been rather controversial. It's interesting getting an inside look at him and his thought process. He's different. He thinks differently than anyone else in the sport and you get a better sense of who he is. I've found it fascinating. Do I agree with him? Not all the time that's for sure. However, I feel like he's more relatable and I have a better understanding of him after watching the documentary. The title has it right, he's definitely an enigma. It's streaming on Netflix.

90 Day Fiancé

I had to add 90 Day Fiancé to the list. If you're bored, it can provide endless hours of entertainment. There have been so many seasons and spin-offs and they're all entertaining. It's my favorite bad TV. How did TLC manage to find the absolute worst people in the world? It's like watching a trainwreck and you just can't turn away. 90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort is airing now (and streaming) and it's terrible (in the best way possible).

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
