84-Year-Old Fights Off Burglar Using A Pair Of Jeans

Did an 84-year-old man fight off a burglar using a pair of jeans? That's what's being reported and it might be the first time that's ever happened.

Jeans can be useful. You can wear them when it's cold and have your legs protected. You can wear them on dates and look nice. You can even wear them on the job and they're functional and comfortable. However, did you know you can also use a pair of jeans to fight off a burglar? They probably wouldn't be the first thing you would reach for but they can come in handy! You can use them like nunchucks, like a whip, or use them to strangle your enemy. I guess I had never thought about that before. There are event the metal buttons would would likely hurt to get hit by. Regardless of how you choose to use them as a weapon, they are at your disposal and one man in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom was able to use a pair of jeans to fight off a robber.

The attempted robbery was caught on camera at the Coin-Op Launderette in Maltby and shows the victim folding some pants when the suspect approaches him and starts attacking him. Sounds like the suspect approached from behind and demanded money from the man who reportedly screamed and pushed him out the door. However, the suspect barged back in and that's when the victim started swinging jeans at the suspect striking him several times in the face before pushing him back out the door, per WFLA.

Eventually, he was able to return to his laundry and the task at hand. The victim has been identified as 84-year-old Ron Croker, per WFLA. Croker told BBC.com, "I've worked all my life for my money. He's not having it." What a badass!

Reports say that he was left with some bruises on his hands and arms and was a bit shaken but fine outside of that. Good news! The suspect has been caught and charged with attempted robbery in connection with the incident. The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Lloyd Smith. Mr. Croker's actions have certainly earned him the title of Bad Ass Of The Day. You would never think to use jeans to fend off a robber but it makes sense that they could work. They certainly did this time around.
