Bigfoot Will Be California's Official Mythical Creature?

There is a lot of Bigfoot talk on the show. We have a couple people here that are fascinated with Bigfoot and the possible existence of the mythical creature. I've never heard of states having official mythical creatures but it looks like a California lawmaker is making the push.

According to ABC10, "A California lawmaker is proposing to make Bigfoot the state’s official mythical creature.  On Feb. 14, Assemblyman Chris Rogers (D-Santa Rosa) introduced Assembly Bill 666, which would designate the mystical creature as the official state cryptid.  A cryptid is a creature that people believe to be real but has not been proven to exist. If Bigfoot becomes California’s official cryptid, it would join countless other state symbols including the iconic Grizzly Bear that appears on the state flag."

Bigfoot has been alleged spotted all over the world. Some people say he lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, others have reported seeing him in the woodlands of middle America. Over in Europe, there have also been reports of Bigfoot. So, is California saying Bigfoot is home to California or are they just the first to recognize the mythical creature?

Do you believe? It's hard to believe in something that has supposedly been around for so long but no one has ever seen. But, people believe in stuff they can't see all the time. Is there one Bigfoot? Or, is a collection of beings that are referred to as Bigfoot. If it's been spotted all over the world then the latter has to be true, right?

Bigfoot Information

According to mil.wa.gov, "Bigfoot is known by many titles with many different cultures although the name Bigfoot is generally attributed to the mountainous Western region of North America. The common name Sasquatch comes from the Salish Sasquits, while the Algonquin of the north-central region of the continent refer to a Witiko or Wendigo. Other nations tell of a large creature much like a man but imbued with special powers and characteristics."
