The $167.3M Powerball winner has been charged with kicking an officer in the face just days after winning the jackpot. That's a good way to spoil the fun.

You've probably heard warnings before that winning the lottery can ruin your life. A lot of bad can happen people will say. Friends and family will ask for money, you'll make bad purchases, and end up bankrupt and losing it all. Those happen all the time! People will lose that money quickly if they aren't smart and responsible. However, they can also get in legal trouble. You really never expect the problems to start as early as they did for this Powerball winner. Days after winning, 50-year-old James Farthing, from Kentucky, has been arrested following an ordeal at the TradeWinds Resort at St. Pete Beach, per The New York Post. Check out his mugshot provided by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office below.

Farthing went viral after winning the $167.3M Powerball jackpot with his elderly mother. Days later, he's been accused of kicking a cop in the face while the cop was attempting to break up a bar fight at the resort. Farthing was with his girlfriend, Jaqueline Fightmaster (yes!), at the time which is a wild coincidence given her name.

According to The New York Post, Farthing also punched another hotel guest during the incident. Sounds like he tried to flee after kicking the cop but didn't make it very far. He has since been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer which is a felony, along with some other misdemeanors. Fightmaster was charged with public intoxication for her role in the incident. She has since been released while he remains behind bars. You can see her mugshot provided by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office below.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
