A mother is going viral online after sharing a teary-eyed video complaining that she was asked to leave a restaurant because her toddler wouldn't stay in his seat. Who's in the right?

The video has the internet divided with some coming to the woman's defense saying that kids are going to be kids and sometimes there's nothing or little you can do as a parent while others say that she should have known better and not taken a kid to a fancy restaurant like that. It's causing quite the debate online and I don't see this getting solved any time soon. It looks like the original video was taken down from TikTok or removed but here's someone talking about the incident and sharing clips of the video.

So, what's the story? According to The New York Post, the mother in the viral video is Renèe Barendregt who says she was asked to leave a restaurant because her 2-year-old son, Ziggy, wasn't staying in his seat. She claims Ziggy was chill and docile and wasn't disrupting anyone. However, a waiting asked he remained seated and he wouldn't stay put so she left.

The New York Post reports the kid was playing in an interior pot plant as the restaurant was starting to get busy. Sounds like that's where a lot of the issue came from. Now, the internet is debating if they were right to ask her to leave if he can't stay still in his seat or if she's right that kids are kids. I guess there are some restaurants that are more kid-friendly and certain restaurants won't appreciate you bringing a kid in and she picked the wrong restaurant. There are restaurants out there that don't have a problem with children and cater to that kind of thing, she probably should have found a restaurant near by that was more like that instead of a fancy restaurant like this one.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
