Conclave Updates with Andy Green

If you didn't know, the world is searching for a new Pope. There is a conclave being held and everyone is patiently awaiting white smoke to rise as a new Pope will be appointed. There is live coverage and we think it would amazing if Andy were to be one of the people reporting on the Conclave.

According to NYPost, "Catholic cardinals are — believe it or not — turning to the Hollywood blockbuster “Conclave” for insight on how the real ritual they’re about to partake in might play out, according to reports. “Some have watched it in the cinema,” a Vatican cleric working on the secretive ceremony told Politico, incredibly. The Ralph Fiennes movie was released just months before Pope Francis died in April – uncanny timing, which has primed the world for high drama as 133 cardinals gathered in the Vatican to commence the secretive ritual Wednesday morning. And about 80% of those cardinals participating in this year’s vote were appointed by Pope Francis, meaning a majority have never experienced a conclave before – and some are apparently turning to the silver screen to see what they’re in for."

We talk about how boring it must be waiting for the white smoke to appear. And, Lisa drops a couple of Conclave facts. Like for instance, they aren't allowed to have pies, chicken or ravioli in the meeting. This is to prevent secret messages from being passed around. We find it hilarious.

Then, we imagine a much more fun scenario where Andy Green is reporting on the Conclave. He would be outside with ravioli and burritos trying to figure out what is happening in there. Everyone has to admit it would be so much more entertaining than whatever is going on over there.
