To be named the Idiot Criminal Of The Day, you know you had to do something incredibly dumb. I mean, we talk about many criminals every day on Dave & Chuck The Freak so in order to earn the title you have to really stand above the rest. Safe to say this guy does. While reportedly trying to run from Houston Police officers he jumped from the 2nd floor of the Galleria Mall in Houston, landing on the ice rink below--unable to move because he broke both of his legs. Ouch. Not the smoothest of getaway attempts. Now, he's going viral for his actions and deservedly so! Check out a video report shared by Click2Houston on YouTube below!
Idiot Criminal Of The Day: Shoplifter Breaks Both Legs Jumping From 2nd Floor At Houston Galleria
Clips of the jump have been all over social media lately. Ken Gilliard who was a witness near the ice rink and saw him jump tells Click2Houston, "I seen the Zamboni coming out to clear the ice and then I just see somebody fall. As soon as he fell, he tried to get up. And I guess he noticed that his legs were broken. He screamed, my legs are broken."
He was reportedly taken to the hospital to treat his injuries. He now has pending charges including evading police and theft. His identity has not been released yet but will be once the charges are officially filed. Don't do that! Running from the police will often only land you in a worst situation...and I use the word "land" intentionally.
