Did a Wisconsin man named Patches Magickbeans crash his car while high on mushrooms? That's what's being alleged!

34-year-old Patches Magickbeans, from Hartland, Wisconsin, has been charged with 2 counts of Criminal Vehicular Operation and one count of Controlled Substance Crime in the 2nd Degree after authorities say he was under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms (magic mushrooms) during a crash that injured a construction worker on Highway 61 in Silver Creek, Minnesota, per Northern News Now. It sounds like an off-duty officer happened to be driving behind Mr. Magickbeans just before the crash. Northern News Now has a video report below.

According to Northern News Now, the officer said he saw the van swerving and weaving on the road and then hit a curb along with several traffic cones before hitting a scissor lift. The van reportedly then hit the tunnel wall and rolled several times before finally coming to a stop.

27-year-old Benjamin Kidd has been identified as the construction worker who was hit by Magickbeans car while he was working on the scissor lift fixing a light, per Northern News Now. He was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and remains hospitalized with those critical injuries. Another construction worker was also on the lift but wasn't hurt as badly.

Reports say Magickbeans was saying off things that didn't make sense when approached by officers and was even engaging with things in the air that weren't there, per Northern News Now. Results from a blood draw are now pending. He's currently being held at the Lake County Jail.
