You can't judge him for it! If you're lost in the Himalayas you do whatever you can to survive, and that includes eating and drinking some things that you'd probably not consume at any other time. Sam Vengrinovich is lucky to be alive after surviving a fall and spending 9 days alone in the Himalayan wilderness, per FOX 35 Orlando. He was eventually rescued after he stumbled into a village and is now recovering from several injuries. It's a wild story but it sounds like he's going to be able to share it for years to come. Check out a video report shared by FOX 35 Orlando on YouTube detailing what he went through and how he survived below.
Florida Man Survives Nearly 2 Weeks Lost In The Himalayas
FOX 35 Orlando reports Vengrinovich was hiking alone on Triund Hill when he slipped during dense fog and fell down a mountainside and suffered several fractures. For 9 days, he had to drink his own urine and eat insects, grass, and berries to survive. You have to do what you have to do out there! It sounds like he was an experienced hiker, so it really goes to show that this can happen to anyone in the wrong conditions. Would you be able to drink your own urine?
His family is reportedly from Palm Coast, Florida and California. Since being discovered, he has gone through multiple surgeries and is currently recovering, per FOX 35 Orlando. A lot of the details remain unknown at the time and it's not certain what challenges he still has ahead of him in the recovery process. Thankfully, he was found when he was as it will give him the best chance of recovering to his fullest extent. Spending that long alone in the wilderness can certainly have its affects on a person both physically and emotionally.
