There are no shortage of side-hustles for celebrities. They might own a makeup company (it's a good way to make a lot of money). They could also own a sports team, that's a fun way to spend your money. They can also invest in exciting start-ups and be ahead of the curve, you see that all the time. Another popular side-hustle for celebrities is the fashion business. However, some do it better than others and I was incredibly surprised to see which celebrity-owned fashion businesses bring in the most money. It was not the ones I was expecting, but good for them!
What Are The Most Successful Celebrity-Owned Fashion Businesses?
ooShirts recently ranked the top 10 most successful celebrity-owned fashion businesses primarily by annual revenue, as sourced from business reports and media disclosures. They also included brand value to show how well each of the brands is recognized in the market and online searches to gauge public interest. Their belief is those factors will show each brand's overall impact. When the scores were totaled, Jessica Simpson's The Jessica Simpson Collection came out on top! According to ooShirts, it has more than $1B in revenue and a popularity score of 3.8M. I can't believe Jessica Simpson's line brings in more than $1B a year! I feel like I haven't heard her name in forever. However, apparently I'm the one living under a rock.
In second place on ooShirts' list is Kim Kardashian with Skims. I have heard of this one! Skims earns $750M in annual revenue, per ooShirts and has the highest brand value at $4B along with the most search interest with 4.2 million monthly searches. That's to be expected when it comes attached to such a popular name like Kim Kardashian. Skims is a big deal and it looks like the future is bright.
Kate Hudson was in 3rd with her Fabletics line, per ooShirts. It has an annual revenue of $582.5M and is valued at $850M so it's expected to continue in its popularity. Again, it having name recognition like Kate Hudson certainly seems to help.
Later on the list, Khloe Kardashian's Good American line and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's The Row lines were featured. Also on ooShirts' list are lines from Victoria Beckham, Beyonce, Rihanna, Conor McGregor, and Cristiano Ronaldo. It looks like men could really use a celebrity-owned fashion business. I was surprised that Conor McGregor has the highest for any male on the list, I didn't see that coming but there really isn't a big name in men's fashion like that for men outside of maybe Michael Jordan?
