How scary would it be to have 3 snakes just hanging out in your underwear? They say you want to dress comfortably for flights and this is not the way to go about doing that! A Sri Lankan man, identified only as Shehan, was arrested at an airport in Thailand after he allegedly tried to smuggle 3 snakes out of the country inside of his underwear, per SCMP. It happened at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok when a body search revealed 3 ball pythons in net bags hidden inside his undies. That's just way too close for comfort for me.

It sounds like he's no stranger to this kind of thing though. SCMP reports he has a history of animal trafficking and had only just arrived in Bangkok earlier that day. He was apprehended by the Thailand Wildlife Enforcement Network (WEN) who coordinated a multi-agency monitoring effort to watch his movements.
Ball pythons cannot be exported nor imported with an official permit, per SCMP. If you're caught doing it you could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine, or both. According to SCMP, he was previously arrested in Sri Lanka in a case where a range of wildlife including wolves, meerkats, cockatoos, sugar gliders, porcupines, and iguanas were all seized.
The suspect was taken into custody and the investigation is now ongoing. You can see a picture of one of the snakes here.
