These days, there seems to be no shortage on ways you can travel. You can take a plane, but then you have to deal with all the drama you hear about every morning on Dave & Chuck The Freak. You've got other rude passengers, angry gate attendants, malfunctioning planes and more. You can't blame someone if they don't want to take an airplane anymore. You could drive, but that will take an incredibly long time. You could take a train but they don't go to every destination. There's still the water. The old fashion way. That's what one Texas man opted to do in an effort to go from Florida to Cuba. Why did he want to do it? Well, that remains unknown at this time.

According to FOX 13 News, a Texas man was arrested after deputies say he made a voyage to Cuba in a boat he rented on Stock Island but didn't return. That Texas man has since been identified as 63-year-old Floyd Dead Devasier of Katy, Texas. He reportedly rented a 26.5-foot Panga boat from Beach Weekend Key West Marina for 2 days and hit the high seas.
FOX 13 News reports that Devasier told the marina he would dock the boat overnight in accordance with the no-night operation clause of the rental agreement. Security footage showed no return of the boat so they tried to call him but he didn't respond. Eventually, they contacted the US Coast Guard and Monroe County Sheriff's Office. A fisherman reported seeing the vessel and sent pictures. Later, the Cuban Border Guard notified the US Department of Homeland Security Office Of Investigations that the rental boat and Devasier along with a female were now in their custody, per FOX 13 News.
He returned to Florida where he was arrested by federal authorities. He does have prior convictions for drug-related offenses including a case where a vessel was kept past its due date and was also found in Cuba. Check out his mugshot provided by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office below. Looks like he was wearing a hat for most of the trip judging by that tan line.
