The incident happened in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was somehow uninjured after striking a power line and falling into the Red River, per USA Today. Dusty Howlett witnessed it happened and filmed the video footage showing the paraglider collide with the power lines. As if that wasn't bad enough, he then is sent falling into a river. One thing after another here.

Howlett explained that he was on a walk with a friend when he saw a paraglider flying way too low who must not have seen the power lines. Howlett explained in a Facebook post, "He landed in the river and was waving and talking to us--water rescue is here now, so hopefully he will be ok. If you have a recreational aircraft, please be careful and pay attention to your surroundings!" You can hear Howlett react with an "oh no" as the paraglider hits the power lines and is sent into the river. It could have gone much worse, again, the paraglider is okay.
He's very lucky to come out of that alive and uninjured. You have to be careful out on those! Running into a power line like that could end up being deadly! That would have been horrific. He was later rescued by a rescue boat that was launched into the river. He was able to stay afloat until help arrived thanks to the buoyancy of the craft's wheels it sounds like, per USA Today. Crazy stuff!
