Two New Jersey bakery owners were stabbed over an eggplant that was served 4 years ago! That's a long time to hold onto a grudge!

You never know what might come back to bite you--or stab you, I guess. After 4 years, you'd think that any issue would be long forgotten and water under the bridge at that point. However, apparently not. A pair of bakery owners were stabbed in Paterson, New Jersey allegedly over an eggplant that was served to a bitter customer 4 years ago. The pair of brothers were badly injured during the stabbing with one seemingly doing better than the other. One was able to return to work, although heavily bandaged, while the other is fighting for his life in the hospital, per ABC 7 NY.

ABC 7 NY says that it happened at the Baladna Bakery on Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey. Abed suffered slash wounds to his arm and his brother, Mohammad, is still in the hospital fighting for his life. The bakery owners say the angry customer ran away after allegedly stabbing Assad and Mohammad inside the bakery.

Sounds like the customer was upset about an eggplant on his sandwich 4 years ago saying he's allergic. The customer claimed it gave him a stomach ache before the incident turned violent.

Now, Mayor Andrew Sayegh is promising swift justice, "We are actually asking for the cooperation of merchants in the area and we are getting it. So we are fairly confident that we'll get to the bottom of this," via ABC 7 NY.

This is crazy! After 4 years, you'd definitely think it was over and done with. However, as we're learning...people don't forget.

That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
