Did you know there are some world records that have never been attempted? For its 70th birthday, Guinness World Records shared 70 never before attempted records that are waiting to be claimed.

Are you someone who has always dreamed of claiming a Guinness World Record? It turns out there are many world records waiting to be claimed. Some are harder than others and are at constant odds. While there are many that have never been attempted at all. You can claim the record just by accomplishing it (until someone else comes along). Some of them seem like they might be pretty easy too and don't require and special talents, skills, or effort.

What Are Some World Records That Have Never Been Attempted?

According to UPI, the very first Guinness Book of World Records was compiled in a room above a London gym and published back in August of 1955. That means it recently turned 70 years old! They're choosing to celebrate the milestone by sharing some records that have never been set.

UPI says that includes the fasted 400 meter sack race, the farthest distance to bounce a coin into a cup, the farthest distance bottle flip, the most high fives in 30 seconds, the fastest time to make a burrito, and the fastest time to assemble a set of Scrabble tiles in alphabetical order. Those are some interesting titles that anybody could challenge! Might just take one day off and you can become a world record holder!

Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday said in a news release shared by UPI, "As we mark the 70th anniversary of the release of our first edition back in the 1950s, we're proud to be building on 70 amazing years as the global curator of superlative facts and achievements. We've seen so many iconic moments, the most amazing feats of strength and skill and endurance from talent across the globe and long may it continue."

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
