A Florida officer is going viral after bare-handing an alligator out of a backyard pool. You can tell he's a real Florida man.

Waking up and finding an alligator in your backyard pool would be quite shocking. What do you do? You could just leave it there but if you're planning on taking a swim or using your backyard that could pose a problem. So, you'll likely want it removed but that's something left to the professionals. They can use all sorts of tools to wrangle an alligator out of a pool like nets and such--or they can use their bare-hands like this officer did. It happened at a home in St. Johns County, Florida. Check out the video shared by FOX 13 Tampa Bay on YouTube below.

Sure, the alligator was likely a juvenile but it still has teeth and a strong grip! You don't want to get in its way. It doesn't matter what size the alligator is, I'd much rather let them be and have them treat me the same way.

A woman off-camera in the video is heard telling the officer, "Obviously you grew up here," per Yahoo! That's a great point. You can tell by how he handled it that he is a proud Florida man. The alligator was safely moved to a pond away from residential areas.

Definitely don't try that at home! Wrangling an alligator out of a pool with your bare-hands is a risky move and doesn't always go the way we just saw it go. It can often go much worse if you aren't prepared.

That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
