I'm surprised this isn't a thing here in the States yet. I'm sure it will be soon once people start hearing about it. Oddity Central says that videos featuring smart toilet paper dispensers require people to watch short ads in order to get their toilet paper strips. Now it's going viral on social media in China. I think it's a pretty good idea, granted I'm not someone in the bathroom urgently needing the toilet paper but I can see how this could be useful in other situations. China has been at the forefront of stuff like this for a while. Back in 2017, Oddity Central says they introduced facial scanners connected to toilet paper dispensers that offered strips of paper per scan. It's all a part of a conservation effort it sounds like.
I can see the US start doing stuff like this because advertising and marketing is everywhere. Once they discover this untapped market we're probably going to start seeing stuff like this around our streets and public bathrooms. What do you think about it?
