A man decked out in scuba gear reportedly robbed a Disney restaurant before escaping into a pond. Doesn't he know there are gators in there?!

This story has been making the rounds online and it's easy to see why. Robbing a restaurant is a risky move. Robbing a restaurant and then escaping into a gator-infested pond while wearing scuba gear takes it all to another level. WFTV reports that he stole thousands of dollars and a search for the individual is now underway. It happened shortly after midnight when the Paddlefish restaurant was closed to guests. WFTV says the man forced 2 employees to go to the corner of the room while they were counting money from the day and told them to close their eyes and tied them up. He ended up stealing between $10k-$10k, per WFTV. Thankfully, the employees weren't harmed and were able to free themselves. See a video report shared by WFTV Channel 9 on YouTube below.

They tried searching for him immediately after he went into the pond but had no luck locating him. The restaurant opened up as normal on Monday and there were no signs of extra security. The sheriff's office remains investigating the matter.

This is just wild. What would make you want to go in that water? There was to be safer and better getaways than that. You're risking losing all that money to a gator. I wouldn't want to end up in that pond. No, thank you.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
