Florida Drunk Driver Claims Husband Who Wasn’t In The Car Was The One Behind The Wheel

A Florida drunk driver gave a bad excuse to try to get out of trouble. She said her husband was the one behind the wheel but he wasn't even in the car!

If you're going to blame something on someone else it's probably best to make sure that they are there and it's possible for them to be responsible. If you blame your husband for being the one behind the wheel after getting pulled over but he's not in the car...your lie isn't going to go very far. It's easy to prove that he was not the one driving. That's apparently what happened to a drunk driver in Tampa, Florida. See a video shared by the Tampa Police Department on Facebook below.

According to WFLA, 24-year-old Kristian Beall (not to be confused with actress Kristen Bell) was the driver who originally refused to pull over. Eventually, officers were able to get her vehicle to stop.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw tells WFLA, "I am incredibly proud of the quick and decisive action taken by our officers and our partners at the Florida Highway Patrol. Their seamless collaboration and dedication to public safety allowed them to stop this individual before there were serious, if not fatal, injuries."

WFLA says she was driving the wrong way down the highway and she appeared confused and told the officer that her husband was driving her home. The problem? He wasn't in the car. Beall was charged with DUI, aggravated fleeing to elude, and fleeing to elude at high speed.
