A California woman is going viral after a metal rod went through her car and impaled her in the rear. This is a freak accident and thankfully she's okay.

You'd never expect that to happen while you're driving along on the freeway. The incident happened in Los Angeles, California when Jessica Preciado, of Downey, was on her way to go for a hike when she heard a pop followed by a sudden pain, per FOX LA. It turns out a metal rod had pierced the bottom of her Ford Fusion and went through her driver's seat and into her left buttock. Ouch! See a video report from FOX 11 Los Angeles on YouTube below.

Preciado tells FOX LA, "I felt really weak, my blood pressure dropped. I started sweating profusely. I felt cold. I was so confused as to where this injury was coming from." Paramedics arrived and they were also confused by where the injury was until Jessica told them she thought she was stuck to the seat and they found the rod still inside of her.

She was then rushed to a trauma center and she's now recovering back home. She's having trouble walking but realized the injury could have been much worse, per FOX LA. She believes the rod that almost killed her fell off a truck ahead of her on the freeway and urges drivers to secure their loads. This would be a crazy injury to have happen while you're driving. Thankfully, she's recovering and hopefully will get back to full strength soon.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
