There's a Heavy Soda trend taking off where people are putting extra syrup in their soda. Have you tried it yet?

This heavy soda trend is all over social media (soda media) lately. Basically, it's where fountain drink machines offer a version of a soda with a larger ratio of syrup than normal. It allegedly started at gas stations in South Missouri and has been taking off ever since. Check out a TikTok video explaining the heavy soda trend below. Is it something you'd try?

Sounds like it's a rare regional thing that is only popular in South Missouri--or at least it was until it started going viral. The name is supposed to be a nod to how there's Budweiser and Bud Light. This is not the light. This is for syrup fans who like their beverage full and sweet.

Some people think it sounds gross and too much while others are salivating waiting to try the sweet treat. Even people in North Missouri claim they haven't heard of it so that goes to tell you how rare and ultra-regional this is. People say it's good with heavy Pepsi and others like heavy Cherry Coke. Some people think it's stuff like this that makes McDonald's Coke taste better than other Coke mediums.

I know I definitely would love to try some heavy soda. What do you think? Read more about the trend from FOX News here.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
