The Sunday Night Football game between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs didn't end with a display of sportsmanship. Instead, it concluded with open-handed slaps and a fight.

This isn't how you want to see the end of a game play out on national television. However, sometimes emotions get the best of players and they do something they're sure to regret. That's what apparently happened at the end of the Sunday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs got the best of the Lions winning 30-17. At the end of the game, QB Patrick Mahomes went to shake hands with Lions safety Brian Branch and Branch was not having it. He ignored the star QB and WR JuJu Smith-Schuester apparently took exception to that and confronted Branch who hit him with an open-hand slap. That started the tussle between players and you can see the video below.

Safe to say tensions were running high. This isn't how Detroit wanted the game to go and certainly isn't how they wanted it to end. The Lions are now 4-2 on the season and Chiefs improved to 3-3.

No word yet on if any action will be taken as a result of the ending there.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
