Man Chokes at Wedding

We have had a few choking stories recently in the news. This choking story happened at a wedding in Buffalo. The groom choked on a potato and was taken to the emergency room. Everyone is okay and he was able to make it back in time for this First Dance.

According to WIVB, "Emily MacKinnon and Nicholas Birke were married in a beautiful ceremony on Aug. 23 at the Botanical Gardens in South Buffalo. They say their big day was everything they’d always dreamed of, up until it was time to eat at the reception. That’s when one bite would change the night. “At dinner is when I took my second bite of food and I looked at my dear husband, and I said, ‘This is great, isn’t it?’ And I looked at him, and he is red and purple, choking,” Emily said. “So, I started slapping him on the back.” Nicholas was only a few bites in when he realized he had a roasted potato stuck in his throat. “Just a little roasted potato that was probably ‘that big’ that I cut into fours, so it wasn’t even the whole potato,” Nicholas said."

We aren't really the "feel good" type of people. Rather than focusing on the how this couple was able to celebrate their marriage, we couldn't get passed choking on a tiny potato. And, who cuts their small potato into another four smaller pieces?!?

We also weren't sure why this story was taken to the news. You'd imagine, most people would have this as a story for themselves but this is big time Buffalo news!

If you have listened for a while, you know how Dave feels about Buffalo. And, this story doesn't help the cause. In fact, it made more of the people on the show have feelings about Buffalo.
