If you're going to make the poor decision to try to rob someone it's always good to make sure they aren't a former professional fighter. That might introduce an extra challenge for you. Unfortunately for this guy, it sounds like he picked the wrong one. It happened in West Hollywood, California where a retired professional fighter and his girlfriend were walking down the street in the afternoon when the gunman got out of his vehicle and demanded the watch. The suspect was then tackled by the former fighter. Check out a video report shared by NBCLA on YouTube below.

The fighter tells NBC Los Angeles, "I was able to disarm and take the gun from him. I had him pinned down. He was trying to get up. No way, we're not letting him go." Reports say the gun was in fact loaded. So, he could have been seriously hurt if he wasn't able to control the situation.

The attempted robber was reportedly arrested but the driver got away. You can read more about the story from NBC Los Angeles here. I bet he did not see that coming. He definitely picked the wrong guy.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
