A father and son in California are going viral online after standing guard at an unlocked candy shop in Riverside. It was accidentally left unlocked and opened so they played the role of security until actually security arrived.

This is a cool thing to see. It's not every day that someone does the right thing. Usually, on Dave & Chuck The Freak, we'll share the dumb things people do and stuff that makes them the Idiot Criminal Of The Day and such. This isn't like those stories. This father and son in California took it upon themselves to guard the candy shop to make sure it wasn't robbed and vandalized. That could have cost the small business a lot of money. They very easily could have pretended like they didn't notice and gone on with what they were doing because it's not their business and not their problem. However, they decided to do the right thing. According to KTLA 5, it happened at Uptown Candy Store in Riverside, California. Cool to see them do this and hopefully it's a lesson that son won't soon forget. Good parenting by this dad!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
