So many people could have gotten away with their alleged crimes if they just kept it to themselves. Think about how many times people have been busted because they chose to film or record their crimes or boast about them on social media. It's a lot! According to Law and Crime, 19-year-old Brynn Gifford is accused of fraudulent use of personal identification information of a person 60 years of age or older, fraudulent use of a credit card more than 2 times in 6 months, and petit theft. A victim says that she visited Palm Nails in Palm Coast and realized days later that her credit card wasn't in her possession. She then checked her card activity and noticed 10 fraudulent charges had been placed with over $500 in purchases at stores and restaurants in the area, per Law and Crime.
From surveillance video, law enforcement had a description of a suspect which they released on social media. Gifford later reached out, herself, about the post. She identified herself as the suspect and asked to speak with detectives on the case, per Law and Crime. Initially, she claimed she did nothing wrong but she was then shown video of her using the credit card at a Walmart buying notebooks and pens. The backpack she had on her ended up containing those very pens and notebook, per Law and Crime.
Turns out, she was working at the nail salon as a receptionist when it happened. She was later arrested and booked into the Volusia County Correctional Facility in Daytona Beach, Florida. Behold the power of social media! Sounds like she was confident going into the interview that she might get away with it which is wild!
