When you go to Australia, it's natural to be fearful of some of their creatures. The country/continent is famous for is massive spiders, insects, and various wildlife. Many of which we don't have here in the States so it's unique to Australia. There are lots of things to be scared of from spiders to snakes and even giant lizards. However, you'd never expect it to be the magpie that ends up causing your severe injuries. According to Lad Bible, it happened to Marcela Montalva Iriarte who was traveling to Australia from Chile with her boyfriend and she ended up breaking her neck in a magpie attack. Ouch!

Lad Bible reports that it happened while she was riding her bike which caused her to lose control and land face-first into the concrete. She tells Lad Bible she remembers hearing the screech of the magpie before everything went black.

Thankfully, she's expected to make a full recovery but now needs reconstructive surgery on her face. Again, ouch. Would you believe her insurance company is refusing to cover it? That's what it sounds like. For the third time, ouch.

A Go Fund Me was started to help raise money for her. Sounds like we have another thing to be scared of in Australia! I never would have thought it would be a magpie.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
