Choosing to go inside an animal's enclosure is a choice that rarely ends well. Either you or the animal is likely to be harmed or even killed. This time, it was the human who was killed during the incident. It happened at the Arruda Camara Zoobotanical Park in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. According to CBS News, 19-year-old Gerson de Melo Machado was mauled by a lioness in full-view of visitors at the zoo after climbing a 6-meter wall and safety fencing and entering the enclosure. It didn't take long for the lion to notice him and to go on the attack. Check out a video shared by NBC News and The New York Post on YouTube below.

On Instagram, the zoo says that euthanasia was never considered for the lion, Leona, who shows no aggressive behavior outside of the incident. You can't blame the lion for going at him while inside the lion's enclosure. It probably thought he was food and I'm sure it could use a good hunt.
Sounds like the victim had been going through some mental health issues and lived a tough life. You can read more about the incident from CBS News here.
