So, why are Olympic skiers having their penises measured before the Winter Olympics in Italy? According to The Sun, senior figures in the sport are suspicious of extreme measures are being taken to gain an advantage--and it might be happening inside the skiers pants.
Why Are Olympic Skiers Having Their Penises Measured Before The Winter Olympics?
Winning a medal at the Olympics would be a big deal! I get why people might want to find a way to give themselves any advantage you can but you can't cheat! The Sun says that some jumpers are suspected of injecting hyaluronic acid into their genitals to gain a competitive advantage. Ouch. How would that give them an upper edge you're wondering? Same!
It turns out, it's all about the surface area of ski jumping suits. The Sun says they're strictly regulated and impact stability and buoyancy in the air. I'm not an Olympic skier so this is something I've never considered, but can understand the science and logic behind it. A bigger suit can be like a bigger wing, the way The Sun describes it. Thus, it gives these athletes a potential advantage.
So, to be given a bigger suit, some skiers are believed to inject their penises with acid to give themselves the advantage. Wild, eh?
