Badass Of The Day: Former Rugby Player Confronts Intruders In His Underwear

The former rugby player who confronted masked intruders at his home wearing only his underwear is our Badass Of The Day on Dave & Chuck The Freak. He definitely earned that title.

Rugby players are tough. They could even be tougher than the average football player. There's lots of contact and it's quite the physical sport. You don't want to mess with a rugby player--even if you catch them in only their underwear it turns out. This incident happened in Brisbane, Australia. Ex-National Rugby League player David Mead, who played for the Broncos, shared the CCTV footage on social media showing what happened at his family's home around 2am. You can see a video shared by The Daily Telegraph on X (formerly Twitter) below.

He was one of the fastest players in the league? Yeah, these would-be criminals didn't stand a chance. Mead tells 9 News, "Instincts took over and I just reacted...I hit the pot plant, got up and then ran around the corner. I got outside and then I hear this car on the left-hand side take off, so I'd assumed they were there. I sprinted around and then the second car takes off behind them."
