A California man got a DUI after crashing while doing whippets behind the wheel. To make things even worse, he continued doing the whippets while being rescued!

Whippets can be addicting and quite dangerous. This story certainly highlights that. A 47-year-old California man was driving around 6am when he crashed and became trapped in the wreckage. When police arrived at the scene, they found a black Land Rover that crashed into a brick wall and the suspect was still inside the vehicle inhaling whippets.

The California man was eventually freed from the vehicle, arrested, and taken to the hospital. Afterwards, he was taken to jail where he faces a charge of driving under the influence.

Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident. Sebastopol police tell KRON4, "As can be seen from the attached video footage, the vehicle was traveling westbound on Sebastopol Avenue, quite clearly at a significant and unsafe speed. At the intersection of Petaluma Avenue, the vehicle impacted the curb at West America Bank, crashed through their large signage, ripping it out of the ground, then through large trees breaking them off at ground level, continuing through the entire parking lot before impacting with the brick wall of the building next to the bank, causing significant structural damage."
