8-Year-Old Survives Tornado

An 8-Year-Old Survives Tornado and Gives An Incredible Interview In today's Peep Show, we cover the story about an 8-year-old kid in Oklahoma, named River, who survived an EF4 tornado. Not only is it amazing that he survived, but the interview he delivers is something you wouldn't expect from a kid his age. You can see the full report and interview with River here CBS EVENING NEWS. The interview takes place on top of a few tires, in what looks like the empty house where River's family home once stood. His attitude is positive and we are blown away by his demeanor. You'll be able to see how stunned we are with River's vocabulary and also his outlook on the entire situation. During the interview he mentions how he feels bad for the other people affected, how he can't make this about himself, and how he'll now have the ability in the future to share about the past. All of which is astonishing to see in someone who is only 8-years-old. Chuck mentions how this kid seems to have more awareness than everyone he knows in his personal life! And we wonder if maybe River is an old soul reincarnated because you just don't really see 8-year-olds with his perspective and awareness. How About Your Attitude? Do you think you'd have the same outlook as River if you were to survive a EF4 tornado? And not even at your current age...but as an 8-year-old would be remarkable! Tornado Facts For Context According to the Enhanced Fujita Scale, EF for short, an EF4 tornado can produce wind gusts between 166-200 MPH. It's also the 2nd highest on the scale with only an EF5 being worse in comparison. You can find more information about the Enhanced Fujita Scale here EF SCALE.
